Oh, my, to date I’ve read three of Loree Lough’s wonderful books, but I must say Paradise is among my all-time fiction faves, period. I read this book in marathon mode. Why? Because I simply couldn’t put it down. From start to finish, there were perfectly blended ingredients of intrigue, suspense, conflict, mystery, elements of SURPRISE, and, alas, my most desired component in most any book—tender, sweet, freshly discovered love. Keep a watchful eye on Loree Lough, my dear reading friends. Something tells me we have many more delightful reading hours ahead for us if Loree keeps those fingers dancing across her keyboard!

I love the way the characters of Julia and Simon interact and show their emotions, pulling me into their lives so fully that I feel like I’m right there in Paradise with them. I was pulling for them to get together from the first time they met at the wolf sanctuary. I especially love the Amish couple, William and Hannah—they are just adorable the way they have such a strong marriage and decide to act as matchmakers for Julia and Simon. Their relationship is so vivid and real that I can’t help but hope that their feelings will rub off on Julia and Simon. Thank you for writing a book that is so full of love, joy, heartbreak and real emotion

I just finished reading your latest published book, Love Finds You in Paradise, Pennsylvania. The setting in Lancaster County was terribly interesting to me because my German-American ancestors originally settled here. I found your book to have strength in the character development of young lawyer, Julia Spencer and her friend, veterinarian Dr. Simon Thomas. The main characters were truly believable, each coping with personal losses, and each struggling with their theological issues related to these life-changing events. Your book reminds us that yes bad things to happen to good people of faith but there is always something positive in that never-ending struggle of good vs. evil, and with a strong faith and a listening ear we are able to evolve to higher level understanding of God’s will for us.

For as long as anyone can remember, tourists have flocked to the quaint town of Paradise, Pennsylvania, where Amish buggies are as common as shops selling handcrafted goods. But to attorney Julia Spencer this town is anything but a paradise. Raised in foster homes, Julia has succeeded in life only through steely determination and independence. The close-knit Amish people are a mystery to her, but local veterinarian Simon Thomas knows them well and is fiercely protective of their simple ways, which are increasingly threatened by the outside world. When Julia agrees to defend a local teenager charged in a case involving an Amish boy, she and Simon find themselves on opposite sides of an intense and emotional legal battle. Just when it seems they will never understand one another, God has something to teach them both about the power of forgiveness…and the joys to be found in Paradise.
